THE 2024 MET GALA THEME: THE GARDEN OF TIME
Each year, the Met Gala event selects a theme in honor of the opening exhibition. The new exhibition, titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” features a collection of fashion relics too delicate to ever be worn again – from a dress covered in butterfly wings, to a silk ball gown dating back to 1877. In similar fashion, the “The Garden of Time” theme for guests, inspired by the poem of the same name, is an ode to creation, destruction, and recreation much like nature itself.
The theme posed an exciting challenge not just for the invited celebrities and their stylists, but also for makeup artists. In the Garden of Time, Penelope Cruz and Amanda Seyfried beautifully bloomed in their Met Gala looks, accentuated by Lancôme's best-loved makeup icons. – If there is one makeup essential all our ambassadors turned to for this big night, it’s undoubtedly Hypnôse Drama Mascara. This extreme volume mascara hits all the marks for a momentous event. L’ABSOLU ROUGE DRAMA MATTE LIPSTICK
– The luscious lips for Lancôme looks these year were largely created with L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick, our beauty secret for achieving rich crisp color that glides on, stays on, and nourishes lips all night long. With a comfortable matte finish that doesn’t dry out, our ladies of the night didn’t weren’t bothered by touch ups. Emma Chamberlain wore this lipstick in color 510 “Divine-Idylle” while Amanda Seyfried really stood out in color 509 “Rêve-Toujours” for a spectacularly purple pout.
Lancôme's best-loved icons above accentuated our stars’ looks. But in addition to these mascara, foundation, and lipstick essentials there were a few other beauty choices that really stood out.
